Jaipur, the pink city of India and the capital city of the vivacious state Rajasthan, has got the pink flavour from pink terracotta heritage constructions in the city. It was founded around four centuries ago by the rule of Amber city, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1927. Jaipur is the first planned city of the country, where the old city was covered with strong walls and flamboyant gates for the safety of residents in the city. The city is filled with spectacular and mesmerising citadels and monuments whose grandeur and picturesque beauty will enthral you with excitement, some of which includes, the Palace of Wind- Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, the Nahargarh fort, Amber fort, the City Palace, the Jaigarh fort, JantarMantar and lot more to explore the city.

The Ajmer fort also known as Amer fort is located in Amer, Rajasthan, which is around 11 kms away from Jaipur. The fort was constructed by SawaiRaja Man Singh in the 16h century and was later completed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century. The fort is located at the cheelkateela or Hill of the Eagles and derived its name Amber or Amer from the Ambikeshwar temple built at the top of the Eagle’s hill at the Aravalli range. The fort is made up of red and pink sandstone and white marbles. The fort spreads out its magnificent architecture style which is carved with the purity of Indian style ambience. The gates and meandering staircases gives easy access to reach the Maota Lake, which is the main source of water in the fort. This fort is among the six forts of Rajasthan that are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort is divided into four courtyards, each section having its own significance.

Built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726 is also well known as Victory fort. This fort is also located at the Aravalli ranges at 'CheelkaTeela' eyeing the Ajmer fort and Maota Lake. In fact both Jaigarh and Amber fort are interconnected by clandestine passages. The best attraction of this fort is the largest canon of wheel on those times name, Jaivani. The palace comprises of a museum, few temples, armoury, and Laxmivilas.
